In short

The DoughCalculator app processes everything you enter and your reading position only locally on your device. It has no user account, uses no tracking, shows no ads and contains no third-party software. The app transmits no user data to the developer. The optional purchase of the Pro edition of the book is handled entirely by Apple (App Store).

What the app stores on your device

  • Recipe and calculator settings: ingredients, amounts and choices in the Recipe, Levain, Proofing and Baking areas, so that they are still there the next time you open the app.
  • Reading position in the book: the chapter you read last, the edition (Hobby or Pro) and the position in the chapter, so that you can pick up again with "Continue reading".
  • Language of app and book: your choice between German, English and Swedish, if you change it in the app. It applies to app and book together.

This data is kept in your device's protected app storage. It is not transmitted to the developer or to third parties. If you delete the app, it is deleted with it.

No tracking, no third parties

The calculators and the book work without an internet connection; the book is included in the app. The app does not send user data to the developer or to third parties on its own. A connection to the App Store is made only by the system when you view, make or restore the optional purchase (see "Optional purchase"). There are no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising services and no third-party libraries. The app does not ask for any permissions (such as location, camera, photos or contacts).

Optional purchase (Pro)

The Hobby edition of the book is free. The Pro edition can be bought once (no subscription) through the App Store. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple: price display, payment, receipt, restoring on a new device and Family Sharing all run through your Apple ID and Apple's system functions (StoreKit). The developer receives no purchase or account data from you, only the aggregated sales reports that Apple provides. The app asks Apple whether the purchase exists for your Apple ID (or through Family Sharing) and stores nothing for this outside Apple's system functions. Apple's processing of your data is governed by Apple's privacy terms.

Sharing the PDF

You can create the levain overview as a PDF and pass it on through the system share sheet. The PDF is created on your device. Where it goes afterwards (mail, messages, files, printing, other apps) is your choice in the share sheet; processing there is subject to the terms of the app or service you choose.

The book is also included in the app as print PDFs. The developer created these PDFs; they are part of the app and are not downloaded. You can view and print them and save them to Files; the Hobby edition can also be shared through the share sheet. The Pro PDF is available only after the purchase. No data is transmitted to the developer in the process.

Apple

If you download the app from the App Store, Apple processes data under its own privacy terms (for example Apple ID, download, payment data and purchases). The developer has no influence on that. If you have enabled Apple's option to share analytics with developers, anonymised crash and usage data may be made available through Apple.

Your rights

Because the app transmits no personal data to the developer, there is nothing to provide on that. For requests and your rights under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability), write to the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the competent one is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Changes

If features are added later that process further data, this policy will be extended beforehand.
